Great Lakes Dental Participated in Team Smile 2017

At Great Lakes Dental, we appreciate the relationships we have formed with so many of our patients and their families from throughout the Mentor, Ohio area and beyond. Being a part of this community is an honor, and getting to know the people who rely on us for their dental care is a treasured part of our practice. We recognize, however, that not every family is able to come in for professional dental care, which is why community outreach is also an essential component of our practice. To that end, we are proud of our partnership with TeamSmile for an annual event that provides free dental services to hundreds of children from the greater Cleveland area. Mark Your Calendars

On June 21, 2017, we joined other dental professionals, the Boys and Girls Club of Cleveland, community volunteers and staff from the Cleveland Indians a free and fun-filled event to increase dental health awareness and provide essential services to underprivileged children. The event takes place at the Cleveland Indians Stadium, and kids who attend received free dental care in addition to having an exciting a unique baseball experience. All of the services performed were done so in the Terrace Club- overlooking the baseball field. More than 200 children participated!

TeamSmile is a non-profit organization with a mission to improve dental health for children from underserved communities. The organization partners professional athletic organizations with oral health professionals to create events that leverage the power of community service to change kids' lives. Volunteers work with children and their families to identify and address current dental needs, educate community members on healthy dental habits and help families find affordable dental care within their own communities. The athletic partners make these events something to truly look forward to, and provide an exciting environment and a little bit of star power to create an experience that kids will remember for many years to come.

The staff at Great Lakes Dental always looks forward to playing a role in this event every year. We love getting outside of the office and helping kids learn how to maintain a healthy and happy smile!
