Implant-Retained Dentures Improve Confidence While Eating and Talking
An implant-supported denture is a semi-permanent form of dentures. The implant-supported denture is held securely and minimizes rocking and movement while speaking and eating. They are ideal for the lower jaw, where dentures are less secure. There are many options for implant supported dentures, often depending on the number of dental implants placed. Often times Dr. Beech will recommend two, four, five or more dental implants depending on the desired outcome of the patient. As the number of implants increases, the stability of the denture also increases, as does the ability to remove the palate of the upper denture.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE? WILL IT HURT?
Depending on whether or not dentures need to be made, the process from start to finish can range from 3-8 months. At Great Lakes Dental Arts the best outcome for the patient is our priority. Dr. Beech will complete the steps in the correct way to ensure you have a healthy mouth and a secure denture that will last many years.
THOSE WHO TAKE ORAL HEALTH CARE SERIOUSLY LIVE LONGER
We encourage our patients to take their dental problems seriously because dental health is not separate from overall health. In fact, the heart can be damaged by gum disease. A cosmetic dentist does so much more than make people look better; we fix problems in the mouth that can affect the entire body. A beautiful smile is just an extra benefit of the improved health that comes with a healthy mouth. If only one tooth is missing or damaged and full dentures are not needed, then the patient may qualify for same-day dental implants. Same-day implants are possible due to improved dental technology in the past few years. They appear just like normal teeth and are permanent. At Great Lakes Dental Arts we can make dentures more secure so that eating in public is never a worry. Contact our dentist office to find out if you are a candidate for implant-supported dentures.
